Lydia Bessert, Baylake Bank Vice President of Building and Facilities, recently
participated in an IFMA (International Facilities Management Association)
volunteer trip to New Orleans. Bessert is IFMA Northeast Wisconsin Chapter Vice
President Elect and Program Chair, and past treasurer and membership chair. She
commented, “What an experience! Our local chapter volunteered to help rebuild
and paint fire stations in hurricane stricken areas of New Orleans, where I
participated with a team at Engine House No. 33. The long-term destruction from
Hurricane Katrina is still evident, but I am so grateful to have been part of
the rebuilding efforts and the city’s spirit of perseverance and hope.”
