Baylake Bank Receives Small Business Administration Lender Award
May 28, 1999
Sturgeon Bay, WI-Baylake Bank was recognized for the second consecutive year by the Small Business Administration (SBA) as being Wisconsin's leading lender for number of loans made in 1998 by financial institutions between $350 and $500 million in assets.
At the Small Business Administration Financing Symposium held May 13-14, 1999 in Stevens Point, WI, Baylake Bank commercial lenders Jamie Alberts, Les Berns, Chris Cumicek, Geoff Hanson and Kenneth Glasheen were presented with an award. In addition the conference provided the lenders the opportunity to be introduced to new SBA programs and informed lenders of updates and improvements made to the program.
"The SBA lending programs typically offer new business owners with lower down payment requirements and do not emphasize the dependence on collateral typically required with other types of business loans," said Business Banker Jamie Alberts. "This is a great advantage for some businesses that are just getting started."
This is the second time Baylake Bank has been recognized during the year by the SBA. In February Baylake Bank was named a Preferred Lender. This designation is given to only a minority of banks who have established a record for quality lending practices with the SBA and allows Baylake Bank business bankers to make on-site decisions regarding some SBA loans. This translates into quicker turnaround of the loan for the prospective customer.
Baylake Bank is an equal opportunity lender and serves Northeast Wisconsin from 22 financial centers located throughout Brown, Door, Green Lake, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Waupaca and Waushara Counties.
