Baylake Corp. Names Robert J. Cera as President and COO of Baylake Bank

Baylake Corp. Director and Nominating Committee Chairman Robert Agnew on June 30, 2006 announced the appointment of Robert J. Cera as President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of its principal subsidiary, Baylake Bank.

Cera will start full time in his position effective August 21, 2006 and is intended to succeed Thomas L. Herlache as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) within a one-year time period. Herlache will continue his role as CEO until the change is made. Cera has also been appointed to Baylake Corp. board of directors where he will serve as Executive Vice President.

“We are excited to announce that Rob is joining our team. He brings a proven track record of success and a wide range of professional experience,” said Herlache. Cera’s hiring follows the leadership and succession plan previously outlined at Baylake Corp.’s annual meeting on June 5th, 2006.

Cera, age 44, most recently served as President of the Chicago Region of Associated Bank following the acquisition of State Financial Services Corporation by Associated in October 2005. From January 2002 to September 2005, he served as President, Chief Operating Officer and Director of State Financial Bank.

He graduated cum laude from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in 1984 with a B.S. degree in Managerial Accounting. He is a certified public accountant and is a member of the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Cera has a history of civic and community involvement during his career and currently serves as a Board member and Treasurer of Ronald McDonald House of Eastern Wisconsin Charities, Inc. in Milwaukee.

He and his wife, Carrie, and three children currently reside in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. The family loves the outdoors and has owned a condominium in Sister Bay during the past few years.

As COO for Baylake Bank, Cera will oversee 28 community financial centers located throughout Brown, Door, Green Lake, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Outagamie, Waupaca and Waushara Counties. Through its banking network, Baylake Bank provides commercial and retail banking products, wealth management and trust services, insurance and brokerage products.
