Thanks to Baylake Bank, dreams will come true for some area families
who would otherwise have found home ownership beyond their means. Baylake
recently donated $1500 to the Waushara County Habitat for Humanity
organization.
Habitat for Humanity gives a "hand up" not a hand-out to its Partner
Families who must make a down payment plus perform a predetermined number
of sweat equity hours. Additionally, families make mortgage payments and
pay taxes as any other homeowner does.
Habitat homes are built with volunteer labor, mostly donated land, many
donated materials, and lots of prayers. Its door is always open for
volunteers, and donations of land, materials, money and time are what keep
the wheels in motion. Waushara County Habitat for Humanity involves local
businesses, churches, service organizations and individuals who invest in
the improvement of the community.
"As a corporation and as a neighbor, we at Baylake Bank are committed to
helping build the good life in our communities," commented Thomas
Herlache, Baylake Bank President/CEO. "The goals and objectives of Habitat
for Humanity are certainly reflective of our own, and we're confident of
the long-term value this adds for not only the individual Habitat
homeowners but for the community as a whole," he added.
Baylake Bank currently serves Northeast and Central Wisconsin from 27
financial centers throughout Brown, Door, Green Lake, Kewaunee, Manitowoc,
