TIPS FOR SAFEGUARDING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

Safeguarding information in the age of technology presents new challenges for everyone. On a daily basis we hear or read of identity theft, misuse of accounts via electronic media, theft or fraudulent use of debit and credit cards and many others.

Baylake Bank has adopted a strong privacy policy. We restrict information about you to only those in our organization who need to know. We train our employees and hold them to high standards of conduct in order to protect your privacy. Our security measures are state of the art and the privacy and confidentiality of your private information is part of our mission.

Privacy is a partnership. You can take steps to secure your personal information by following these tips:

·Never give out your credit or check card numbers, Social Security number or personal credit information over the phone unless you initiate the call or to unknown parties.

·Tear up or shred receipts, obsolete bank statements and unused credit card offers before disposing of them.

·Keep track of your mail. If a statement, check or bill is missing, someone may have changed your billing address. Don’t mail bills from your mailbox. Drop them in a post box or at the post office.

·Review your credit report annually, and report and correct mistakes.

·Make sure you do business with reputable companies, especially on the Internet.

·Make sure you have a secure connection when doing business on the internet. Look for a locked padlock or a solid key.

·Don’t open e-mail from unknown sources.

·Use current virus detection software.

·Don’t email sensitive information if not using secure email.

·Protect your PIN numbers and passwords. Change them often. Use a combination of letters and numbers whenever possible. Do not use birthdates or other numbers or words that may be easy for others to guess.

·Balance your bank accounts with each statement in order to detect any use of electronic devices by unauthorized persons.
